Management Consultant / Corporate Controller
4/2004 - Present                                                Analysts in a Box, Irvine, CA         
Reporting to Executive Management - Establish, Direct or Reengineer
accounting and finance departments including vendor (re) negotiations
increasing EBITDA by $3.6mm annually, launch of new line of revenue
yielding $1mm annually, and restructuring of commissions resulting in a
26% increase in lead capture along with an increase in sales volume and
rate. Restatement of cash basis books to accrual.  Established Credit and
Collection Policy to launch $100mm line of revenue and increased D&B
supplier score by 150% in order to secure a $40mm order.   Planned and
executed system conversion from mainframe to Great Plains for eight
companies.  Directed all HR activities including payroll (conversion to
internet based), recruiting and terminations, and benefit administration for
five companies.  Directed a multi-year audit to allow a public company to
purchase the assets avoiding bankruptcy for my client.

$32mm company - Reporting to the Publisher and Directing all accounting
and finance functions with a staff of eleven -- Developed the Annual
Operating Plans and Quarterly Forecasts; Prepared and Delivered Monthly
Reporting Packages to Parent Corporation, Managed Self-Funded
Healthcare, Printer Contract Analysis and migration saving $.45mm
annually, and Renegotiated Proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement
reducing planned payouts by $.075mm.  Reorganized finance department
twice saving $.1mm annually, managed three system conversions within
twelve months, integrated one acquisition and participated in Department of
Justice Inquiry, and reduced audit hours by 92% saving $.1mm in audit fees.

9/2001 - 7/2002                         Gateway Learning Corporation, Santa Ana, CA
$75mm company - Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and
Directing a staff of four -- Developed the Annual Operating Plan by Week and
Monthly Forecasts (P&L); provided Variance Analyses on Weekly Margin
Performance.  Restructured Commissions Plans to meet the changing
Cash Flow and Revenue needs of the business, initiated the design and
automation of the supporting Commission Reports including a
Commission Plan Violation Report. Gathered Management Reporting
Requirements for Two Application Upgrades; participated in pre-acquisition
due diligence. Executed Survey and Analysis which concluded that the
company had a technology issue which had reduced revenue by $.75mm
annually.  Discovered new revenue stream with a 65% EBITDA gaining $.
5mm plus revenue annually. Assisted CFO in reducing the number of
issues per payroll by 90%.

$200mm company - Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance --
participated in development of the Operating Plan and Forecast (P&L,
Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow); provided Monthly Profit & Loss Statements
and Variance Analyses, and Strategic Modifications that assisted divisions
in running their businesses. Monitored actual versus planned capital
expenditures. Prepared lease versus purchase analyses including
contacting competing potential lessors which generally reduced contracted
interest rates. Additionally, prepared Multi-State Multi-Entity Sales Tax
Returns, and interfaced with Sales Tax Audits; prepared Federal Tax
Packages for five legal entities; participated in pre-acquisition due diligence
and post-acquisition integration process. Developed specifications for Fixed
Asset Management and Tracking Software; planned and carried out the first
Physical Inventory of twenty-five million dollars of assets; Headed the Payroll

and fixed asset systems.  Participated in acquisition evaluations and

Reports.

$2.3 billion division - Prepared complete financial statements for
companies ranging in balance sheet size from $50mm to $500mm.
Performed foreign currency translation, account analysis and reconciliation.
Termination analysis, flowcharts, Statement of Cash Flows and projections,
Variance Analysis, and Employee Benefits Forecasting and Analysis.
Established policy and procedures, expedited billing to Tokyo Disneyland,
designed reports and scripts in Paradox and CQS to eliminate routine
tasks. Prepared capital expenditure requests. Prepared fixed expense
